About Us
MyDream Shih Tzu is a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Canadian Shih Tzu Club. In addition to being members of these organizations, we show commitment to the Canadian Kennel club by showing our dogs to their Canadian Championship, not only as an assurance that our dogs meet the standard, but also to support the clubs that look after supporting canines in general.
As avid dog lovers, Shih Tzu being our dream dogs, we take pride in breeding, showing, grooming, and placing Canadian Kennel Club registered dogs and puppies into responsible, loving homes. We have been in the business of breeding quality Shih Tzu since 2002.
We have trained and become familiar with the many desired healthy traits that are beneficial for Shih Tzu as well as the not-so-healthy traits that may be considered problem-some for them. We ensure that ethical and responsible breeding practices are followed and strive to produce sound dogs with excellent temperaments, award-winning and health-beneficial traits, while breeding-out the less beneficial ones, whether they are show dogs or family pets. We breed on a limited basis (2-3 litters per year).
All of our dogs are raised in a family-oriented environment within our home, and are well-socialized. We have a strong focus on the health of our dogs, ensuring that they receive the appropriate medical attention, vaccinations, and check-ups as needed to ensure that they are the healthiest they can be at all times. We take pride in serving them with high quality feed to ensure adequate nutrition and the best building blocks for their health.
Whether our dogs are in our home or yours, we take part in their lives, providing support for them and you, as required. We screen our dogs’ new families prior to placement in the home to ensure that our dogs have the best quality home, and a family that will suit them, and vice versa. In the event that there are unforeseen events that occur in life that prohibit our dogs from being able to stay with their new families, we assist in finding alternate suitable homes. We refuse to allow our dogs to be placed in a pound, humane society, animal shelter, given away to other un-screened homes, or to be put down for unnecessary reasons.
In short, MyDream Shih Tzu is our dream to build the best Shih Tzu that we can dream of, as well as our dream to ensure that all of our dogs, being a part of our family, whether residing in our home or in another loving family are the most rewarding, loving, healthy, and happy animals that they can be.
